How do you feel when you are in conflict with others? - Angry

Have you seen Alan Jeffrey’s new blog http://ow.ly/10BFWX ???

He discuses anger and the impact it can have on young people; their lives, their relationships and how they view themselves; “I’m just not a very nice person.”

Along with a team of talented volunteers Alan created a new resource to support young people and families to understand anger and how to manage it. (Check out his blog to view the resource.)

How do you manage anger? What can we do to support others to manage anger?

Understanding how anger works can help enormously, from the trigger response, to release, calming down and getting back up to a normal emotional level. All these stages we can manage more effectively. However, just by being aware you are getting angry and using that as a trigger to ask yourself ‘why?’ may give you enough space to respond more constructively, than reacting destructively to the situation (stimulus). And, if that space you create allows you breathe and think then you have a great opportunity to calm down and avoid a escalation of emotions and potential aggression.
